Des Moines Register Launches Climate Change Series

The Register has launched a series of climate change coverage that focuses on Iowa while giving enough national and global context to provide perspective. As of July 9, 2008, the paper had published the first two parts: 1) Impacts on Iowa, which is a summary of the various issues that could affect the state from energy use to weather and wildlife changes. 2) Iowa's climate history, which looks at how temperatures and other climate patterns have changed in the state over the past 100-some years, plus a look at the projections for the state. Additional parts are in progress, including topics on what cities are doing, agriculture, the economy and energy. View the projects online at www.DesMoinesRegister.com/Climatechange.
